Enter the hall of fame with one of the best-known strains in the world. White Widow, the 1995 High Times Cannabis Cup winner, is a true classic. This legendary hybrid was created by combining Brazilian Sativa landrace and resin-rich South Indian indica, and its name remains synonymous with top-quality to this day.
Terpene profile and flower characteristics
Its best-known feature is the absolutely astonishing resin production. The flowers, and even the surrounding leaves, are completely covered with a dense, frosty white blanket of trichomes, which gave this strain its name. The flowers themselves are hard, dense and very compact.
The terpene profile is complex and penetrating, full of spicy, earthy and woody notes. It delivers a strong aroma reminiscent of incense with distinct peppery tones, complemented by a deep pine and earthy background with a subtle hint of sour citrus.
Structure and growing characteristics
White Widow grows into a short, bushy and compact plant with a classic indica structure. It is very vigorous and develops strong side branches that fill out its entire frame. The leaves are small, dark green and glossy.
Thanks to its manageable size and branching nature, it is ideal for SOG (Sea of Green) and SCROG (Screen of Green) growing methods. It is also known as a very forgiving and easy-to-grow strain, which makes it suitable even for complete beginners.
Cultivation and massive yields
Indoors, you will appreciate its fast flowering time, which lasts 8–9 weeks, and it is capable of producing up to 800 grams per square metre.
When grown outdoors, it is ready for harvest from late September to early October. As a versatile and resilient plant, it thrives in temperate, equatorial, tropical and subtropical climates and can deliver a harvest of up to 900 grams per plant.
