This hybrid was created by combining the popular Do-Si-Dos strain (in the renowned Forum Cut) with the uniquely fruity and potent Holy Punch genetics. The result is a plant with dominant indica that stands out not only for its potency, but also for its exceptionally complex terpene profile.
Exceptional terpene profile and flower character
The aroma of this strain perfectly balances the sweet, earthy and gassy notes of Do-Si-Dos with the fresh, fruity charge and spicy undertones of Holy Punch. The dominant feature is a strong sweetness mixed with fresh fruit and peppery notes, all on a distinct earthy, woody and slightly citrus background.
The flowers are extremely dense, compact and rock hard. It is an excellent resin producer, covering them with a thick sticky layer. In the final weeks of flowering, especially at lower temperatures, the flowers and surrounding leaves can take on beautiful dark blue and purple shades.
Compact structure and growing characteristics
Velvet Moon grows into a low, bushy and compact plant with very short internodal distances. It shows strong vigour and develops many sturdy side branches that can easily bear the weight of dense flowers even without additional support. When grown outdoors, it can reach a height of 170–200 cm.
Cultivation and yield
Indoors, the flowering time is 8–9 weeks and the yield is classified as high, making it a very efficient strain.
When grown outdoors, it is ready for harvest at the beginning of October (in the Northern Hemisphere) and is capable of producing up to 800 grams per plant.
