Sensi Star: Modern classic and the definition of Indica

Sensi Star is the absolute flagship of Paradise Seeds and is regarded in the growing world as a modern classic. This strain, launched in 1995 and further improved in 1997, set a new standard for resin production in the 1990s. Its qualities are confirmed by more than 15 prestigious awards from various competitions, including victories at the High Life and High Times Cannabis Cup. It is a photoperiod feminised plant that is 90% indica.

Morphology and plant structure

The plants are characterised by typical indica traits: they grow low, are robust and branch heavily. They form broad, dark green fan leaves. The flowers of this strain are renowned for their hardness and compactness. Sensi Star is often classified among the so-called “white strains” (White Strains) thanks to its extreme layer of trichomes, which is so dense that the flowers reflect a metallic white sheen under light. Due to the dense foliage and bushy nature, your care will require occasional pruning so that light can reach the lower parts as well.

Growing specifications and yield

Sensi Star is suitable for indoor and outdoor growing. Indoors, this genetics is an ideal candidate for the Sea of Green (SOG) method thanks to its compactness and dominance of a single main cola (at a density of approx. 20 plants per m²). It also performs very well in hydroponic systems. The flowering time indoors is between 56 and 63 days (8–9 weeks) with a yield of 350–450 g/m².

When grown outdoors, it prefers temperate zones (between 40º and 50º latitude). Harvest usually falls at the beginning of October. Due to the extreme density of the flowers, you must carefully monitor humidity in the final weeks of flowering to prevent problems with mould.

Terpene profile and aroma

The aroma of Sensi Star is unique and very penetrating, often described as “metallic”. The olfactory profile is complex and layers strong notes of lemon and citrus over a base of metal, pine and fresh mint. During the growing cycle, the smell of the plants is very intense.
