Vanilla Cake is a premium photoperiod annual plant bred from two iconic Californian giants – Ice Cream Cake and Wedding Cake. It delivers vigorous growth, robust branching and unrivalled resin production from the early stages of flowering.

During cultivation, you will appreciate its excellent response to advanced canopy-shaping techniques such as SCROG, topping and gentle LST training. Thanks to its balanced internodal spacing, grow light penetrates evenly into the middle and lower levels, ensuring the full development of all flower sites.

Plant morphology and visual appeal

This predominantly indica strain (75 %) develops an elegant, sturdy and slender structure with characteristic leaves that combine rounded and sharply cut shapes. The flowers mature to extreme hardness and density, while the flowers and adjacent leaves are coated in a sparkling layer of sticky glandular trichomes. Due to the high weight of the mature flowers, we recommend providing the branches with sturdy support or trellis nets towards the end of flowering.

In the late flowering phase, the plant offers an impressive visual display. If you provide cooler night-time temperatures at the end of the cycle, the green leaves and bracts develop deep purple to violet colouring, giving the entire plant exceptional collector appeal.

Yield potential and technical parameters

Indoors, the flowering phase lasts 60 to 65 days and, with optimal lighting, provides a generous yield of 550-600 g/m2. Outdoors, harvesting takes place from mid to late October. In the ground and in a sunny location, the plant can reach a majestic height of up to 3 metres, with an impressive yield of 1 300 to 1 500 g per plant.

In terms of nutrition, it prefers a balanced and stable supply of nutrients without excessive fertilisation, ensuring trouble-free development and consistent root system health. Its cultivation is suitable for intermediate and experienced growers who appreciate its excellent genetic stability.
