Blue Gem: A perfectly balanced hybrid with a dessert profile
Blue Gem is a modern improvement of classic Blueberry genetics. It was created by crossing a carefully selected, highly resistant Blueberry mother plant with the popular Gelato #33 variety. The result is a perfectly balanced hybrid (50 % Indica / 50 % Sativa) that brings the best of both worlds – reliability and a unique terpene profile.
Easy growing for maximum reliability
This variety was designed for versatility and resilience, making it an easy-to-manage plant that thrives in different environments. It develops a classic indica structure – it stays short, compact and bushy with strong stems that can easily support a heavy harvest. For optimal results, we recommend topping the plant after the fourth node.
Blue Gem is also a visually stunning annual plant. In the later stages of flowering, its leaves often turn beautiful shades of red, pink and purple. The flowers themselves are large, dense and show blue and green tones, highlighted by fiery orange pistils and a thick, frosty layer of resin.
High production and discretion
When grown indoor, Blue Gem is an ideal candidate for spaces with limited height, as it usually reaches under 100 cm. It has a fast flowering time of 8-9 weeks and produces generous yields of up to 550 grams per square metre. A major advantage is its relatively low odour during flowering, which helps discreet growing.
In outdoor conditions, this variety shows exceptional resistance to pests and mould. In the northern hemisphere, it is ready for harvest in mid-October. Under optimal sunny conditions, it becomes a monstrous producer with yields of up to 1000 grams per plant.
Dessert terpene profile
Blue Gem is considered a true "dessert" variety. Its terpene profile, dominated by Beta-Caryophyllene, Limonene, Guaiol, Alpha-Humulene and Beta-Myrcene, creates a complex, creamy and sweet berry bouquet with distinct notes of citrus, spice and a diesel undertone.
